We would like to think so! If you are looking for a strictly party hostel, we may not be the best fit. But if you are looking for good vibes, delicious food & drinks - and meeting other openminded and curious travelers, you've come to the right place. DO YOU EXCHANGE MONEY AND WHERE IS THE CLOSEST ATM? 🤑

Santa Marta: We do not exchange money except for emergency situations (ex, to pay for the taxi ride etc). However, there are a number of nearby ATM’s (~7 minutes walk from the hostel) in the buenavista shopping mall

Palomino: the closest ATM is in Mingueo (~15 minutes motorbike ride from the hostel) the next town after Palomino, so it is best to plan ahead and bring enough cash to avoid an unnecessary trip
Palomino / San Andres: there are atms right next door at the tienda

HOW DO WE GET AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD? 🚕

Santa Marta: The easiest way to get around the city is by taxi. Because of the size of the city, the rides are not expensive and it will take you the shortest time to reach your destination

Palomino: we are just a five minute walk to the bus stop that takes you to Santa Marta and its surrounding areas, such as Rodadero, Taganga, Bonda, Center, Palomino (leaving ~every 30 min). To get around the town or travel nearby you can also ride on the back of a motorbike for a cheap price.
Bogota: Ubers and taxi's are relatively cheap option. There is also an above grounds metro and extensive bus system
San Andres: Given the small size of the island, many of the best beaches, shopping and food are within walking distance of Dreamer Beach Club. If you would like to explore many other beautful parts of the island, we recommend using motorbike, biclylce, or "mule" (golf cart) - all of which we have available for rent for your convenience

Yes, of course! Our reception is open between 7am-11pm so please make an effort to arrive between these times. If not possible, please send us a WhatsApp message letting us know in advance and we will make sure to help

CAN I RESERVE TRIPS & TOURS WITH YOU? 🤠

We provide a large selection of tours and activities to our guests in house as well as partner with some of the best tour providers in Colombia to offer trips to The Lost City, Tayrona, Minca, and many of Colombia's most beautiful sites. Just shoot us a message on whatsapp and we will be happy to assist

DO YOU ACCEPT PETS?🐶

While we love pets, out of respect for our guests who may be allergic, we do not host pets at this time.

DO YOU HAVE A COMMUNAL KITCHEN WE CAN COOK IN?🧑🍳

Santa Marta/San Andres We have a fully equipped kitchen! Just bring the ingredients, which you can pick up from the near by store. All we ask is that you wash your dishes at the end of your meal ; )

Palomino/Bogota: We currently don't have a kitchen available for guests. However if you have small amounts of food you'd like to store, based on our fridge capacity, we will do our best to accommodate

WHAT SHOULD WE BRING TO THE DREAMER? 🎒

Santa Marta / Palomino: What you bring will be dependent on which activities you plan to do during your time in Colombia! Most of our travelers choose to take advantage of the beautiful surrounding areas, including stunning beaches and lush jungles. If you plan to join us on one of our signature adventures (Lost City Tour, hiking in Tayrona National Park, Tubing down Don Diego River etc) you will need to bring proper hiking and and swimming attire

Bogota: The climate of Bogota can be all over the map so dress accordingly! Pack layers, as Bogotá has a mild, pleasant climate but can be cool, especially at higher elevations and at night. Although many day are bright & sunny, it can rain sporadically as well. Packing an umbrella or poncho is advised
San Andres: With a tropical (hot and humid) climate all year round, it is important to pack accordingly. A bathing suit, sun protection, and flip flops are essential. Light, breathable clothing is recommended given the humdiity, as well as fast drying clothing given the frequent passing thunderstorms.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO TRAVEL TO OTHER CITIES IN COLOMBIA?🚌

Santa Marta/ Palomino Central De Transporte de Santa Marta (Bus station is the only bus station in the local area that has connections to Medellin, San Gil, Bogota, etc. 3 mins away by taxi from Dreamer Santa Marta

Bogota: The Terminal de Transporte de Bogotá (also known as the Salitre Bus Terminal) serves as the main hub for intercity buses traveling to destinations across Colombia, including popular coastal cities like Santa Marta and Cartagena

I AM A COLOMBIAN GUEST, WHAT IS THE IVA TAX ABOUT? 📝

The IVA tax is Colombia’s version of VAT, which is collected by the government (the DIAN office) as a tax on local colombians at 19%. Many countries in Latin America tend to have a VAT tax. This tax does not apply to foreigners.
